Gar Grannell

President

Gar Grannell is a global trade entrepreneur and logistician known for his leadership and expertise in supply chain and transportation management. He is a guest lecturer for the Export New York speaker series and serves on Syracuse University’s Franklin Supply Chain Advisory Board. He’s served as president of the Transportation Club of Central New York and has been recognized as a Top 40 Under 40. Gar graduated from Syracuse University with a double major in supply chain management and marketing management and is a 2004 graduate of Leadership Greater Syracuse. He is currently owner, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Mohawk Global Logistics, a worldwide logistics service provider. His company has received numerous awards, including, Fast Track 50 (Central New York Business Journal), Trade Partner of the Year (Capital Region Global Business Network), and International Service Provider of the Year (International Business Council of Greater Rochester NY).

Jim Trubits

Vice President

Jim Trubits has over 35 years of experience in compliance consulting and supply chain management. He is a regular speaker for international trade groups, including Ontario Exports and the National Customs Brokers and Forwarders Association of America (NCBFAA). As a leader in the global business community, he currently serves as an officer of the World Trade Center Buffalo Niagara. Jim graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from SUNY Buffalo and went on to complete the executive program in supply chain management at the Laurier Institute, as well as the International Air Transport Association’s air cargo training program, passing “with distinction.” He is a licensed Customs broker, certified Customs specialist, and endorsed by the National Association of Small Business International Trade Educators (NASBITE) as a Certified Global Business Professional.

Jim Trubits

Vice President

Jim Trubits has over 35 years of experience in compliance consulting and supply chain management. He is a regular speaker for international trade groups, including Ontario Exports and the National Customs Brokers and Forwarders Association of America (NCBFAA). As a leader in the global business community, he currently serves as an officer of the World Trade Center Buffalo Niagara. Robert Stein

Vice President

Robert Stein’s extensive experience in Customs brokerage and freight forwarding is spread across a multitude of roles, giving him an unique perspective on the field. Working at the northern border, in both release and entry roles, helped him to learn a great deal about cross border trade and NAFTA; while his work as a regional FDA trainer and vice president for a brokerage/freight forwarding firm gave him a deeper understanding of trade compliance. As an FTZ consultant, he has guided importers through FTZ savings analysis, training, activation, and systems integration. Most notably, he’s worked with the FTZ Board in Washington D.C. to expedite FTZ applications and assist in obtaining interim production authority. Robert is also an active speaker to the trade community, lecturing throughout the year on Incoterms, import compliance, and NAFTA. He is a licensed Customs broker, certified Customs specialist, and Vice President, Regulatory Compliance and Quality Improvement for Mohawk Global Logistics.

Rich Roche

Vice President

Rich Roche is a graduate of the United States Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, NY, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Nautical Science and Marine Transportation. Rich is uniquely qualified in the maritime industry, having held licenses as a New York State Property and Casualty Broker, Chief Mate upon Oceans, Master of Pilot Vessels of any gross tons, and First Class Pilot on Upper Bay of New York Harbor. His extensive career in the logistics industry has shaped him to be an expert in cargo claims, shipper’s interest insurance, carrier contracting, and overseas agent management. In 2001, he started Diplomat Global Logistics, a freight forwarding company which was sold to Mohawk Global Logistics in 2009. Rich has appeared as an expert witness on several occasions, including a multinational arbitration involving a top-tier accounting firm and other maritime cases. He currently serves as Chairman of the NVOCC Committee for the National Customs Brokers & Forwarders Association of America (NCBFAA), where he works closely with top industry representatives and the Federal Maritime Commission on NVOCC regulations. Today Rich is Vice President, International Transportation at Mohawk Global Logistics.

Kristen Morneau

Kristen Morneau has worked in international trade compliance and logistics for over two decades. Sue K. Nans

Sue K. Nans has over 20 years of experience as an Empowered Official in the manufacturing industry as an export professional. Before joining Mohawk, Sue was a Lead International Licensing Analyst overseeing U.S. export licensing, technical assistance agreements, and manufacturing license agreements. For over 15 years, she mentored and trained employees at Anaren, Saab Sensis, M.S. Kennedy and all new export control employees at Lockheed Martin. She has led, initiated, and performed live export control training to thousands of manufacturing industry employees. She has performed countless audits, which produced more fortified export compliance programs for her clients through improved policies, procedures, forms, and work instructions. She spent several years as a consultant assisting local companies through voluntary disclosures, auditing export programs, formulating new compliant processes, and training personnel. She feels passionate about teaching and sharing pertinent knowledge to those who are willing and eager to learn. Sue has a B.S. in International Trade Management through the International Import-Export Institute at Dunlap-Stone University and a B.A. in Business Administration from Columbia College.

Her background includes drawback processing, as well as import and export compliance training, auditing, and procedure writing. She also has expertise in qualifying products for free trade agreements. Cindi has an Associate of Science degree in Business Management from SUNY Niagara County Community College, as well as a Bachelor of Science degree in International Trade Management from SUNY Empire State College. She is a licensed Customs broker, certified Customs specialist, certified classification specialist, and certified export specialist. She is an active member of the International Compliance Professionals Association.

Robyn Moore

Duty Drawback Manager

Robyn Moore has joined the Mohawk team as a Duty Drawback Manager. Prior to working in trade compliance consulting, Robyn spent time working closely with Customs on the northern border, helping truckers at the Canadian border process import entries. She also has past experience in retail management and assisting in inventory controls. Her expertise with drawback includes working on behalf of a prestigious cosmetic manufacturer and a luxury fashion designer. At Mohawk, Robyn is in charge of implementing and assisting in creating drawback programs for an array of clients. Robyn provides audit solutions to ensure record retention requirements and complete compliance with U.S. Customs rules and regulations regarding duty drawback. She trains sales staff in determining eligibility of duty drawback recovery, in addition to teaching and training U.S. Customs compliance for duty drawback clients.
